I have no idea what kind of flowers these are. I'm guessing irises, but I'm not a horticulturalist. I had to get up early to run by the bank to get money for laundry, and I saw these flowers on the way back. These are blooming awful late, especially give Chicago weather (freezing at night recently). Anyways, I thought they were pretty cool, especially since they seem to the kinds of flowers that orient themselves toward the sunlight.
Very soft colors....probably I would have taken the shot at an inclined angle. When flowers lie on the street, its very tempting to shot straight down, but does not give a good presentation at the end.

Darn, so true, maybe I'll go out and get another shot for tomorrow. Thanks for the advice though!

These are crocuses. Can't believe they are blooming now. They're usually the first ones to bloom in spring...sometimes even when there's snow on the ground.
